Job Description Conduct collection calls to customers. Reconcile activity for a smaller territory of accounts. Notify sales personnel of potential problem accounts, blocked orders, and reconciliation issues such as short pays, short ships and tax issues. Identify problem accounts and provide timely notice to the supervisor.
Run aging reports and work these reports to resolution for the assigned territory. This includes aging reports, unapplied cash reports, short pay reports, unapplied credit reports, aged items over 180 days and miscellaneous project related reports. Maintain and improve on said reports by making calls, contacting customers, working with the Sales Representative and escalating problem accounts to departmental management. Provide weekly/monthly updates to management.
Communicate with both internal and external customers while handling inbound and outbound collection calls for their assigned portfolio as well as from the collection queue.
Review blocked orders to determine if the orders can be released based on established departmental credit and collection policies. Apply basic credit knowledge to their decisions. Escalate problem orders or orders that exceed their authority level to their respective supervisor.
Provide daily reconciliation to ensure the accuracy and integrity of customer accounts. These include, analyzing and processing offsets and write off requests, pulling check copies to confirm correct application of payments and working with the sales force on pricing and freight issues.
Communicate any potential problem accounts to the respective Sales Representative and Supervisor. Answer sales calls regarding terms or payment plans.
Monitor credit limits, identify and escalate any account that is at, or exceeded their credit limit to the respective supervisor or manager for further review.

High school diploma or equivalent.
Relevant Work Experience
At least 1 year commercial credit and/or collection experience with large volume accounts.
Additional
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
10 key proficiency.
