Director, Commercial Contracts, Marketing and Trademarks (Finance)

We're looking for a seasoned legal leader to join the NVIDIA team as Director, Commercial Contracts, Marketing and Trademarks. This role will serve as the lead advisor for marketing and brand-related legal matters, including global trademark strategy, commercial deals supporting growth and product marketing, brand collaborations, agency agreements, advertising and regulatory compliance. Partner closely with senior business leaders, outside counsel, and internal partners to protect, grow and commercialize our brand portfolio.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop and implement legal strategies to support NVIDIA's marketing, brand and public relation initiatives.
  • Draft, negotiate and advise on complex commercial contracts, including agency agreements, sponsorships, endorsements, promotions and digital media partnerships.
  • Manage the trademark clearance and registration process to protect and strengthen the brand's intellectual property working closely with outside counsel and internal partners.
  • Advise on IP rights usage, rights of publicity, content licensing and consumer protection issues related to marketing content and digital campaigns.
  • Develop scalable processes, templates, playbooks and trainings to enable cross-functional teams to move quickly while aligning with legal and regulatory requirements.

What we need to see:

  • 12+ years relevant legal experience with at least 4+ years of in-house legal experience supporting trademark, advertising, marketing and complex commercial transactions.
  • 5+ years leading specialty groups as part of a broader functional organization.
  • In-house legal experience supporting marketing and brand teams at a global technology or enterprise company is strongly preferred.
  • Deep expertise in trademark law, including clearance, prosecution, portfolio management, licensing and enforcement.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and structure commercial deals involving media, sponsorship, influencer, content production and IP licensing.
  • Extensive knowledge of advertising laws and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FTC, CAN-SPAM, COPPA, GDPR/UK GDPR, ePrivacy) and application in digital and traditional media.
  • Experience advising on rights of publicity, brand collaborations, social media content and user-generated content.
  • Must have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and be admitted to the bar.

  • Prior experience in IP litigation or judicial clerkships.

The base salary range is 304,000 USD - 460,000 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
