Position Title:  Solutions Engineer - Wireless - 7E

 

Position Summary

The Solutions Engineer (SE) - Wireless is primarily responsible for facilitating revenue by architecting and executing fixed wireless solutions to Crown Castle customers. This includes ownership of network design and path analysis.

The SE will also be responsible for assisting in the preparation and delivery of customer facing sales presentations and acting as a subject matter expert in fixed wireless product/service offerings.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Interfaces with customers to determine technical requirements and expectations for fixed wireless solutions
  • Work on a team that is responsible for analyzing network and customer requirements, equipment capabilities and services to make written recommendations and oral presentations on network architecture, equipment selections, product definitions, routing policies, etc.
  • Designs viable fixed wireless network solutions for customer applications with alternatives based on customer-specific technical and financial parameters (May include preparation of network topologies, network drawings, and technical specifications, and assisting Sales with pricing)
  • Assist Sales Executives with internal proposal development and review, and assembles required data and initiates internal complex proposal process
  • Assists Sales Executives in the preparation, delivery and review of customer facing sales proposals and RFP/RFQ responses with prospects and clients.
  • Communicates customer feedback to Product Management for future product developments
  • Reviews and validates all service orders before being submitted for implementation.  Participates in service order kickoff meetings to ensure smooth service implementation.
  • Develop and deliver appropriate ad-hoc training for market, including new product and new technology
  • The individual must possess and employ the highest ethical and business standards and always conduct himself/herself with the greatest degree of professional integrity.
  • Act as a technical mentor and provide support and thought leadership within the Fixed Wireless team
  • Act as a fixed wireless technical subject matter expert to internal cross-functional partners as well as external customers and partners
  • Miscellaneous other duties and responsibilities as required by management.

 

Education/Certifications 

  • Bachelor's degree required

 

Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • 10 years of sales engineering related experience in the telecommunications industry with 5 years of wireless network planning.
  • Able to use prediction tools like Atoll, pathloss and GIS tools like QGIS and ESRI
  • Working knowledge of fixed wireless technologies covering sub 6GHz to 100GHz
  • Knowledge of 2G,3G,4G,5G wireless technologies
  • Able to create link budgets for fixed wireless systems
  • Knowledge of radio wave propagation fundamentals, antenna theory, and optical transmission
  • Strong technical understanding & exp. w/optical transport solutions such as DWDM
