Radiologic Technologist (Healthcare)
Prepares patients for radiological procedures. Produces high quality x-ray images by applying knowledge and techniques related to medical procedures.
Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
Maintains reports and logs.
Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
Responsible for working with manager to schedule yearly equipment maintenance check-ups.
Logs radiological procedures completed. Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
Maintains procedure rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiological supplies. Disposes of medical waste as required by OSHA and sterilizes equipment.
Delivers, picks up and returns films.
Exhibits good customer service skills in both verbal and written communications.
Possesses maturity and confidence needed to remain calm and positive when responding to patients in distress.
Use universal precautions and protective measurements as outlined in Exposure Control Plan and other pertinent documents to protect self and others from the transmission of blood borne pathogens.
Confidential Data: Must comply with all laws and policy on confidentiality of patient information, data and records.
Assists with procedures as requested by physician and complies with patient needs as appropriate.
Clean imaging plates
Complete disability forms when needed.
Clean instruments.
Answer voicemail through EMR system and send to appropriate Physician or staff.
Call in Patient's medications and inform the patient that medication has been called in.
Complete x-rays in the EMR system.
Preceptor for X-ray students.
Schedule appointments when needed.
All other duties as assigned.
