Key Accountabilities
Assist in Identifying & driving continuous improvement opportunities within the facility and at our supplier's locations.
Design and applications of mechanical seals, bearings and bearing tooling
Create solid models, drawings and ECN'S
Input Bill-of Materials into MRP system
Providing technical support to Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, and Quality departments
Contribute to the new product development process
Assisting in the maintenance of existing product definitions
Participate in RBS events (the company's operating management system based on the Toyota Production System and the Strategy Deployment Process - advanced Hoshin Planning methodology)
Job Requirements, Capabilities, and Success Factors
Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline
Minimum of five years of Engineering Work Experience
At least three years of experience designing bearings.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
Experience in root cause analysis and formal problem-solving techniques
General working knowledge of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools (including SPC, GR&R, DOE, FMEA, Control Plans, Cpk, DMAIC, First Article Inspection, Cost of Quality)
Demonstrated success in the ability to consistently multitask
Good writing/administrative skills, including computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, Minitab, etc.)
Working knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and/or CATIA
Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management
Strong customer service orientation/ High level of interpersonal skills
Background in metal manufacturing environment including metal cutting and grinding is required
Working knowledge of engineering part drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment is desirable
Knowledge of metals and composites; materials background
