Applications Architect (Finance)

Primary Responsibility:

Acts as the Oracle Cloud Technical expert for the company. Proactively identifies HCM system requirements and gap resolutions working closely with the HR Business Partners in the field and at the corporate office, advises on and supports customer meetings, and contributes to the functional analysis of any intermediate to large Oracle application projects. Provides guidance on integration and system functionality to ensure alignment with standard systems architecture. Provides off-hours support as required.

What you'll Do

  • Maintains awareness of application changes, updated technologies and best practices within the Oracle Cloud framework of technologies. Assists in the research and evaluation of proposed technologies / practices for applicability to the company, performance, reliability, cost, integration requirements, and assists in determining the place in company's software architecture strategy. Mentors team members on new techniques / practices.
  • Acts as tier III technical support for Oracle HCM application, resolving escalated Oracle support issues, new report requirements, and new integrations opportunities.
  • Operates as a working team member on the Corporate Applications technical team, providing guidance on the design, development and evaluation of test plans for identified functionality gaps for system bugs, enhancements, interfaces and reports.
  • Advises on and supports customer meetings regarding Oracle cloud technical capabilities.
  • Provides guidance on Oracle upgrade and patching activities to ensure alignment with standard systems architecture
  • Provides guidance on Mass Data loads via Spreadsheet Loader and HDL to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Leverages Oracle HCM application and techno-functional expertise to explain Core HR, Absence, Payroll, Benefits, Talent, Compensation and Recruiting module resolution methods and techniques and evaluate proposed solutions in warehouse application suite for necessary functionality and impact on plant floor operations and revenue
  • Contributes to the functional analysis, architecture design of all Oracle application projects. Builds organizational awareness of Oracle cloud best practices and where / how the Oracle system encapsulates those capabilities
  • As capacity allows, analyzes current Oracle application technical architecture for opportunities for large efficiency gains in the application administration/management or opportunities for large improvements in robustness or performance. Designs and/or recommends tools and/or customizations that realize those gains
  • Performs other duties and assists other staff as necessary or as directed by management.

What Experience and Education You Need

  • 8+ years of Technical Oracle Cloud experience specifically within the HCM and ERP modules.
  • Strong experience with integrations to/from the Oracle Applications - this includes HCM Extracts, API, BI publisher as well as the OIC Layer
  • PowerBi , Visual Builder, Oracle FDI and Oracle Redwood experience is preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in MIS or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Physical Requirements

  • Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions.
  • Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bending.
  • Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work.
  • Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks.
  • May require travel by automobile and airplane for business.
  • May require visits to warehouse operations in temperatures at or below freezing.
  • May require carrying loads related to travel and the occasional lifting, carrying, positioning, and/or moving of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Requires the use of various electronic tools.
