Civil Engineer (Finance)
SUMMARY:
Entry to Junior-Level Civil Engineer to join our Water Resources team in Norfolk, VA. The candidate will be part of a dynamic team of engineers engaged in a wide range of environmental, land development, planning, stormwater, water and wastewater projects.
The ideal candidate is passionate about and enjoys working on a wide variety of water resources and environmental projects from planning through to design and construction, including water, wastewater, infrastructure, hydrology/hydraulics, water quality, and sustainable design and construction services. The ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team and see tasks through to completion is critical.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Civil Engineer will play a key role in supporting the Project Manager with planning and design projects for a variety of municipal, state and federal clients throughout Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region. The individual will assist in condition assessment and master planning, report writing, design calculation for a variety of land development, stormwater, potable water and wastewater project, pump station and pipeline design, and other aspects of utility infrastructure projects. Norfolk is a vital, growing office, destined to be a hub of engineering and environmental services for Tetra Tech. This position is ideal for a motivated individual to grow as the office grows. Some travel and field work may be required.
LANGUAGE/COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Effective oral and written communication essential to this position. Must be fluent in the English language; both in speaking and writing. Report and proposal writing for a range of projects is required.
OTHER SKILLS:
Candidate must have the ability to work well in a professional and team-oriented environment, as well as independently. Candidate should possess strong organizational skills and be client focused. Must possess basic computer skills; the computer skills must include proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel. Must be proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
