Environmental Coordinator (Biotech)
Responsibilities: Provides technical support to the environmental engineering department to ensure compliance with multi-media environmental regulations and operating permits, develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures and follow the Company's policies, procedures, and management actions to ensure the compliant, safe, efficient, and quality operation of all facilities. Assists in the compilation of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports for submittal to the Department of Environmental Quality and the EPA. Collect samples, conduct field inspections and document observations, recognize non-compliance and take corrective action as required. Maintain department environmental records in accordance with company retention policy. Advises facility personnel of best practices and concerns at facilities to ensure that the region's comprehensive environmental management plans are effectively implemented. Interacts with a wide range of facility management and employees through SOP development and implementation, training, and education.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree required, preferably in Engineering, Science, or Environmental Studies or related field. Possess computer skills, organizational skills, and effective communication skills. Must be able to interpret and apply multi-media state and federal regulations related to industrial activities. Must be a self- starter, results oriented and willing to work with minimum supervision and occasionally during non-day shift hours.
Preferred Qualifications: Prefer degree in Environmental Science field and between 0-4 years of experience in related job function. The successful candidate will possess the ability to develop and present trainings, use computer skills in many types of applications and able to communicate effectively at all levels. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a plant environment, working with diverse teams and able to work a flexible schedule if required.
