General Manager (Tinys Milk & Cookies River Oaks) (Food Services)

We are looking for a strong leader who has a heart for hospitality, a passion for coffee, and a desire to work in the heart of our charming neighborhoods. We offer health, dental, and vision insurance after 60 days of employment. Paid vacation time is immediately available and prorated based on the calendar year, up to 80 hours. After a year of continuous employment, we offer 120 hours of paid vacation.

Tinys Milk & Cookies is a walk-up bakery, coffee & ice cream shop. We pride ourselves in having one of the best coffee programs in Houston and Austin and are looking for a strong leader to help us maintain that high standard.

Job Purpose: Tinys Milk & Cookies General Managers are responsible for providing guidance and effective leadership. As General Manager, you are responsible for overseeing all operations. You will be involved with day-to-day functions and guest interactions. Our General Managers care deeply about our culture and provide a genuine sense of hospitality.

Duties and Responsibilities: The primary job duties and responsibilities of being a General Manager include but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for store financials
• Responsible for successful on-boarding and training of all staff
• Oversees and is responsible for all venue operations
• Ensures proper maintenance of appliances, furniture, and overall appearance of the venue
• Ensures compliance of health code standards, ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
• Ensures compliance of local and state regulations
• Develops guest relations
• Oversees the planning and managing of service, including special orders and events
• Completes appropriate HR paperwork in a timely manner
• Responsible for and assisting with hiring and terminations
• Responsible for enforcing handbook policies and company protocols
• Appraise staff performance and provide constructive feedback to improve productivity
• Responds to e-mails and correspondence quickly and efficiently
• Attends and conducts weekly meetings with all levels of management
• Develop weekly training opportunities for pre-shifts
• Close attention to detail
• Promise to maintain the brand and image through hard work, service, and sincere love of hospitality
• Works on special projects
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: Tiny Boxwoods Productions require the minimum qualifications to successfully perform the position of General Manager:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a manager in a similar environment
• Texas Food Handlers manager certificate
• Excellent guest service skills
• Good memory
• Flexible availability in scheduling
• Capacity to multitask
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Friendly!

Working Conditions: The incumbent will be working in a restaurant/bar setting, with guests, in the kitchen and dish area. Potential hazards include but are not limited to cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.

Physical Requirements: The incumbent is required to stand/walk for long periods of time. Incumbent is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be able to constantly move around in the kitchen.
