Value Stream Planner/Buyer (Healthcare)
Position Summary:
This position will provide support to the Value Stream in the planning and procurement of all related materials to insure timely and cost-effective delivery to meet customer expectations and the needs of the business.
Essential Functions:
1. Order materials from Materials Requirement planning (MRP) reports to meet production needs
2. Develop production schedule and manufacturing plan consistent with finish product demand, resource availability and inventory level objectives.
3. Procure all related materials to support the production schedule via the ERP system. Create purchase orders, communicating and negotiating with suppliers to insure favorable pricing and delivery.
4. Review MRP and generate or release work orders to meet customer and forecast demand requirements and inventory plan.
5. Maintains open communication with Supply Chain Management and the Value Stream Team to ensure manufacturing and inventory plans are clearly understood and fulfilled.
6. Maintains accurate records and documentation for history and audit purposes.
7. Prepare, review and publish monthly and/or weekly schedules as directed by management.
8. Maintains updated procedures in support of Business System requirements.
9. Performs additional duties and assignments as directed by management.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Management or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
2. Two to five years materials/planning/procurement experience.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally (by phone, in person) and in writing with all levels of management
5. Strong ability to be part of a team combined with the ability to multitask and adapt to change.
6. Strong problem solving, team building and decision-making skills.
7. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Access.
8. APICS Certification preferred.
