IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager (Information Technology)

Salem Five Bank is seeking a senior technologist to lead and drive the IT Infrastructure and Operations organization. The IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager will plan, direct and manage the daily operations of the technology operations including server engineering, network, telephony, communications, and technology architecture.

The Infrastructure and Operations Manager will be an active participant in developing, implementing, and managing information technology strategies and initiatives for Salem Five. The incumbent is responsible for organizational leadership on technology infrastructure issues, ensuring the alignment of infrastructure solutions, and availability with business strategy. S/he will leverage new/existing technology to help Salem Five differentiate itself from other competitors.  S/he will direct the planning and implementation of IT infrastructure systems in support of business operations to improve service quality, cost effectiveness, and business development.

Primary Responsibilities include:

IT Leadership & Strategic Planning:

  • Oversee a team of information systems professionals responsible for the operation and maintenance of the production environment as well as engaged in various projects related to the IT infrastructure.
  • Provide effective organizational management through timely, candid, and constructive feedback. Develop associates to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance associates' career growth. Develop talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning.
  • Provide effective leadership through prioritization based on visions, goals, shared decision making within understood boundaries.
  • Plan, propose, and manage budget processes for IT projects, maintenance, expense management.
  • Act as the technology partner for both IT and businesses teams across the organization.
  • As the Bank's technology adviser to the CIO, bring the right technology choices and recommendations while keeping the balance on the cost and its impact to the company.
  • Champions I&O involvement in the IT organization's innovation efforts and its role in experimenting with new solutions to take advantage of business opportunities.

Technology and Planning:

  • Contributing to the technology roadmap for the bank.
  • Responsible for driving the technology infrastructure, system availability, disaster recovery, and maintaining a highly controlled environment to meet the regulatory and cyber security requirements.
  • Maintain and manage a hybrid data center infrastructure utilizing Azure as well on on-premise technology infrastructure.
  • Leverage cloud and outsourced infrastructure services where appropriate, taking into account requirements, capabilities, regulatory requirements, and cost structures and drive the maturity within the organization.
  • Embrace new and emerging technologies to support operations and customers through flexibility and the ability to learn and adapt to change.
  • Balance managing project commitments with maintenance and production work.
  • Meet with departments to identify specific objectives and needs (e.g. scope of project, types of hardware, and operational uses) for network design and implementation.
  • Oversee the technology design, strategy, justification, implementation, and maintenance of the Bank's network, infrastructure computing, and voice services for all locations.
  • Monitor regulatory compliance with information security and determine the applicability of current regulations and best practices. 
  • Develop, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures working with the IT security team.
  • Drive technological innovations and improvements without disruption to the production environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 5 years of experience managing teams responsible for technology, data center, helpdesk, networking, architecture.
  • Ability to manage, coach, mentor and develop employees is a key ingredient for a successful candidate
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex and often contentious issues; reach consensus and work through people to achieve key goals.
  • Excellent track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience, or industry activities
  • Must have excellent time management and organizational skills to coordinate a wide range of assignments by managing dependencies, expectations and effectively communicate with stakeholders and architecture throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Successful track record of effective vendor management
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management, IT, or any engineering discipline with significant coursework in information technology, computer science, or similar qualifying area, or equivalent experience

Salary Range:            Competitive Base plus Incentive
