Material Inspector (Manufacturing)
Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
 Arrange for correct finished part pallet / container to be prepared in advance of run, therefore, minimizing line downtime.
- Load coils onto line as required.
- Complete Coil First Off requirements for Auto Exposed products as per In-Process Check Sheets.
- Complete Pallet First Off requirements for Auto Exposed products as per In-Process Check Sheets.
- Continuous inspection for any material defects during line run as outlined in Auto Exposed handling, inspection and production procedures.
- Perform Quality checks of finished product at set intervals as set out in process Check Sheets to ensure compliance with Customer specifications.
- Ensure propertagging of finished parts.
- Safely moves material with the use of forklift or overhead crane from the line to staging or storage areas.
- Operates bundle turner, when parts require to be flipped.
- Completes all necessary inspections and verifies product is in conformance with customer packaged product specifications.
- Preparation of tooling changeovers per QDC procedures.
- Arrange for scrap removal in timely manner to minimize line downtime.
- Verify required rework of held material information provided on ‘Release of Held Material Form'.
- Determine if rework process qualifies for return to Prime and proceed with rework if results dictate.
- Complete required paperwork in a neat and accurate manner.
- Proven competent to operate a forklift and overhead crane.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years of job related experience in handling Automotive Exposed and Non-Exposed product.
- Certified Crane and Forklift Operator
