Lead Banquet & Events (Hiring for Ages 16 and Older) (Finance)
Must be 16 years or older for a cook/bus position. Must be at least 18 years or older to serve beer and be able and willing to work past 12:30 a.m., as needed. May be required to work past scheduled shifts, including overtime, as needed. Must obtain a CA Food Handler card within 30 days of hire (we help you get this-do, do not worry) or show proof of existing CA Food Handler card. Must get ABC Certified within the first 30 days.
Job Tasks
• Comprehend and understand Event Planners
• Work closely with Event management with any needs
• Oversee entire event if needed and assigned
• Conduct pre-function meeting if needed
• Delegate tasks and ensure staff are doing assigned tasks
• Manage flow of service
• Communicate and coordinate with kitchen and event management
• Ensuring all set up of functions is prepared according to Event Planner
• Act as the point of contact- he/she is the only source of information flowing to and from the contact person.
• If the contact has an issue with the food or service, the lead is the go-to person, and if unable to resolve, will get assistance from Event Management
• If needed meet with the contact person to discuss meals, timing, changes, etc.
• Meet with the kitchen to discuss meals, timing, changes
• Report to management any discipline problems with staff
• Report to management a summary of their daily observations and communicate any important additional information
• The lead will delegate and manage closing procedures (tear down and cleaning) after the event ends
• Greet guests and be able to answer guests' questions and provide consistent, friendly, and helpful Guest Service
• Understand and follow all food safety procedure
• Sell beer and wine in conformance with state law and company policies
• Be knowledgeable about the food we are serving
• Operate cash register, collect money and determine the correct change
• Follow cash handling policies as explained by the supervisor and employee guide
• Under direction, cook and consistently prepare a variety of foods, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and sides
• When cooking, acknowledge guest count and buffet needs; prepare food; and inform runners when the food order is ready
• Clean up the event area and work areas
• Perform in-depth cleaning duties at the beginning and/of end of each shift. This includes dishwashing duties and facilities clean up (stacking chairs, mopping, vacuuming, etc.)
• Maintain safety and sanitation requirements
• Inform the lead team member and/or supervisor of any concerns or issues
• Perform other work as assigned

Qualifications: Training and Experience
Must excel at providing outstanding Guest Service. Experienced in banquet service preferred.

• Ability to follow company policies and procedures (Emergency Action Plan, Food, Cash, Uniform Policies, Alcohol training, Safety, etc.)

Physical Requirements
• Able to walk, bend, stretch and stand for up to eight hours at a time
• Able to climb stairs
• Able to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment
• Able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds from ground to waist height
• Able to understand food service orders
• Able to see to ensure the quality of products and equipment
