Position Title:  Director, Digital Program Management & Execution- 9E

 

Position Summary 

The Director of Digital Program Management & Execution will lead the overall PMO strategy for the Digital Transformation organization including establishing a PMO and managing the full portfolio of digital projects.    This role will establish the strategic roadmap for project execution manage the PMO processes, functions, and standards, and lead the Agile transformation of the organization.  Specifically, this leader will oversee a portfolio of digital technology projects and ensure the Digital Transformation team is delivering on time and on budget to enhance the value to the customer/user experience. The Director of Digital Program Management & Execution will build and lead a team of scrum masters, coaches, and project managers to deliver project planning, execution, control and communication to internal and external stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership, strategy, and direction for Digital program management and execution.
  • Work with leadership to develop strategic planning and execution plans to properly align project resources in support of those plans.
  • Lead a team of agile project and program managers, scrum masters, and agile coaches including attracting and retaining high-caliber talent, maintaining clear roles and responsibilities, and determining development requirements for the team members, while also acting as an individual contributor as needed. Establish clear performance objectives and monitor progress against agreed quality and performance criteria. Address performance issues where required. 
  • Plan, build, and run a PMO office and discipline at Crown Castle including all relevant artifacts, templates, standards, and KPIs to support financial management, quality, and on time delivery of strategic projects. Sets organizational strategy governing the direction and conduct of DT program management, including the evolution and application of repeatable, adaptable and scalable methods. 
  • Responsible for overseeing the execution of the overall portfolio of projects and programs across DT managing budgets of more than $25+Million. Represents DT as the ultimate escalation point for project-related issue resolution.  Authorizes and champions activities to manage the entire lifecycle of complex programs from project initiation to project close, ensuring the delivery of quality solutions that meet the constraints of time, cost and scope.
  • Lead the agile transformation of the organization by supporting the establishment of agile organization design and implementation, training, on-going coaching, change management, and measurement of agile maturity progress
  • Oversight of Agile project and program managers with responsibility for integration of teams and processes, stakeholder and vendor management, communication, financial and quality tracking, issue resolution, status tracking, and reporting. Ability to lead the team in these activities and well as work in the details. 
  • Oversight of agile coaches with responsibility for training and ensuring consistent adoption of scaled agile.
  • Lead the forecast on capacity over the organization's planning and budgeting cycle. Ensure that the capacity management policies and standards are fit for purpose, current and applied correctly. Advise on new business proposals and capacity and demand issues

 

Education/Certifications  

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering or related discipline; MBA or Master's degree preferred
  • PMP or comparable certifications preferred  
  • SAFe Agile certification preferred 

 

Experience/Minimum Requirements  

  • Ten+ (10) years' experience leading a digital/technology PMO.
  • Demonstrated experience building project management strategy, teams and best practices for an enterprise.
  • Experience with developing and rolling out project management frameworks (e.g. Agile) , complex processes & standard documentation   
  • Experience leading teams through change
