Nurse Supervisor (Healthcare)
Schedule: Full time 32 hours per week
Shift: 24 hours nights / 8 hours days
Departments: Nursing
Responsibilities:
The Nursing Supervisor has administrative responsibility for managing staff, overseeing patient care and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. The Nursing Supervisor also acts as an interface between staff, patients, and the patients' families, as well as between staff and physicians. The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for coverage of the Nursing Department, other hospital departments and the hospital in general during designated shifts.
Qualifications:
RN license within the State of Massachusetts required; BSN preferred. Previous psychiatric / substance inpatient experience preferred. Leadership experience in a clinical setting preferred. Current CPR certification required. Crisis Intervention experience preferred.
Additional qualifications
• Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking to make decisions and solve problems
• Advanced level knowledge of Behavior Health and Substance Abuse treatment modalities; applies nursing process from a Trauma Informed Recovery model of care
• Ability to develop a therapeutic relationship while maintaining professional boundaries
• Effective oral and written communication
• Sufficient typing and computer skills to facilitate use of Electronic Medical Record
• Crisis management, time management, delegating, coaching and team building skills
• Flexibility, creativity and ability to manage stressful situations in a calm, organized and professional manner
