Position Title:  Cloud Solution Architect – Network Automation & Platform (P4)

Role

As a Cloud Solution Architect, you will provide strategic leadership in defining and designing Cloud-based solutions for Crown Castle's Network Organization. You will be responsible for developing, designing, and implementing cloud-based solutions that meet the business needs and objectives of our organization. Additionally, you will contribute to migrating existing solutions to the cloud. You will play a crucial role in planning, executing, and optimizing our cloud migration strategy. You will work closely with stakeholders, engineering teams, and clients to create scalable, high-performing, and cost-effective cloud architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and robust cloud solutions.
  • Design and architect cloud infrastructure across multiple platforms, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Develop solution architecture, strategies, and roadmaps for migrating existing applications to the cloud and building new cloud-native applications.
  • Provide expertise in cloud technologies, including but not limited to AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or other relevant platforms.
  • Assess and analyze existing on-premises applications and infrastructure to determine their suitability for cloud migration.
  • Ensure security and compliance considerations are integrated into the architecture and design process.
  • Lead the evaluation of new technologies and tools, making recommendations for their integration into the existing cloud architecture.
  • Act as a technical advisor to internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance and best practices in cloud architecture and solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of more complex architectures.
  • Produce detailed component requirements, specifications and translates these into detailed solutions/designs for implementation using selected products.
  • Ensure that relevant technical and business strategies, policies, standards and practices are applied correctly.
  • Select complex tools and methods to establish, clarify, and communicate the functional and nonfunctional requirements of system users, their characteristics, and tasks.
  • Design and architect highly scalable, cloud-native applications on the cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, other) using core developer services such as: API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB and ECS. Leverage new technology paradigms (e.g., serverless, containers, microservices).
  • Migrate monolithic applications to micro services architectures.

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.

Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Cloud Solution Architect role or similar, with a strong track record in architecting and implementing cloud solutions.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing principles, services, and architecture across multiple cloud providers.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar.
  • Experience in designing high-availability, fault-tolerant, and scalable cloud architectures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Expertise in DevOps methodologies and tools for automation and orchestration.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in data management, big data, analytics, and machine learning in cloud environments.
  • Understanding of networking and security within cloud architecture.

Organizational Relationship

Reports to: Sr Manager Systems Architecture

Working Conditions: This is a remote role with the expectation of on-site/in-person collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter and may require up to 10% travel.

For New York, Colorado, California and Washington residents the hiring range offered for this position is $130,000- $170,000 annually. In addition to salary, employees are eligible for an annual bonus of up to 20% of annual salary and restricted stock. Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive 18 days of paid time off each year and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
