IP Administrative Supervisor (Legal)

Job Description:

The IP Administrative Supervisor will oversee a team in day-to-day operations, providing IP Admin support for a large legal client. The Supervisor will ensure the team provides outstanding service to the Client, while building strong customer relationships. They will focus on the team's day-to-day work assignments and ensure they are following proper protocols and quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the Account Manager to establish development goals, setting business objectives, establishing priorities, and providing ongoing performance feedback
  • Assist with IP legal administrative duties that include:
    • Docketing requests, formatting patent applications in Word
    • Proofing issued patent applications
    • Naming PDF disclosure documents to be filed with the US Patent Office
    • Converting PDF documents to word format
    • Preparing routine letters to clients regarding US Patent Documents
  • Time entry and expense reporting support
  • Support IT related requests such as triaging IT Tech support requests and submitting requests for IT equipment
  • Assist other teams with projects and special requests, prioritizing to meet deadlines

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • At least 2 years' experience performing IP administration
  • Previous supervisor experience in a client service-oriented field required
  • Law firm or professional service organization experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Professional demeanor and a strong work ethic
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong initiative required, must be a self- starter who can demonstrate the ability to take ownership and work effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
