General Labor - 2nd/3rd Shift (Finance)



A General Laborer performs a large variety of tasks in support of the facility and production operations. General Laborers often work alongside and/or in support of skilled trades. The work is either directed by instruction or defined through procedures. These tasks are generally physical in nature, require the use of basic tools.

The annual base pay for this position is $24.35/hour. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

This position will start out on 1st shift but is potentially a 2nd or 3rd shift role.

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Basic reading and writing skills
  • Basic computer skills - locate/open files, send/receive emails, process/enter details in service reports
  • Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures and use basic measurement devices
  • Ability to handle performing repetitious, uncomplicated, and at times, physically demanding work
  • Ability to work at elevation (ladders, lifts, scaffolding)
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds
  • Ability to perform basic assembly of equipment (e.g. furniture, equipment with "some assemble required", etc.)
  • Ability to use transportation equipment to deliver and retrieve material, personnel, and toolboxes at job sites
  • Ability to select and utilize the appropriate tools the performance of job tasks. This position will utilize tools such as, but not limited to: basic hand tools (hammer, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.), various powered tools (lawn mowers, jackhammers, sledgehammer, screwdrivers, drills, etc.) and cleaning equipment (brooms, shovels, floor scrubbers, vacuums, power washer, etc.) and other similar tools
  • Perform tasks as required to assist skilled trades
  • Replace air/fluid filters
  • Assemble/move furniture
  • Break up floors
  • Pick up/collecting/emptying trash, recycling and scrap materials
  • Clean floors (vacuuming, mopping, wax, buffing)
  • Shovel/remove snow
  • Load/move/unload materials and equipment
  • Basic carpentry (e.g. making/hanging signs, mounting display boards, etc.)
  • Paint walls, floors, machines, columns, piping, etc.
  • Perform basic equipment servicing (cleaning, lubrication, coolant, filters, etc.)
  • Clean facility and production equipment (internal/exterior surfaces, contaminants - residues/oil/dirt/chips, etc.)
  • Clean and Scrapes on CVD's Furnaces
  • Crystal Cleans on Char Furnaces
  • Perform all work activity in a safe manner while maintaining compliance to Honeywell's Health Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS).
  • Perform work with high quality. Utilize best practices and the appropriate tools, materials and parts for the task at hand.
  • Perform work in an efficient manner. Escalate quickly when issues arise that prevent timely completion of work assignments. Actively seek new assignments when work is completed faster than expected.
  • Implement processes to sustain a clean and orderly workplace. Ensure equipment and work areas are cleaned and all tools are properly stored at the completion of each assignment.
  • Actively participate in defining, documenting and continuously improving maintenance procedures in the pursuit of the safest, most productive, work methods.
  • Effectively communicate with coworkers and provide assistance to others when appropriate to ensure success of the team.
