Sr. Process Engineer – Combustion (Architecture)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and lead the multi-site (Youngstown, Houston & Muskogee) technology team, focusing on technical support for Vallourec Star Heat Treating, and resolve multi-discipline problems.
• Maintain and improve standard procedures; train the process engineers and operators. Reduce variations of key process indicators.
• Lead the identification, development, and implementation of quality loops. Lead Continuous Improvement Team(s).
• Benchmark current processes and evaluate new technologies, processes and materials.
• Use Manufacturing Process Control (MPC), Six Sigma and/or other advanced problem-solving techniques such as Design of Experiments, process capability, SPC and FMEA to isolate and reduce sources of variation and resolve production and quality issues.
• Develop and implement root cause analysis and corrective action of non-conformance to mitigate rework, reduce cost and improve quality.
• Build technical capabilities by identifying and presenting Capital Expenditure Projects for multiple locations to support Vallourec Star strategy.
• Coordinate project activities with Vallourec Process Communities, Vallourec R&D centers, external research organizations and universities.
• Promote effective communication vertically and horizontally within the organization.
• Robust and safe furnace operation with a continuous reduction of CO₂
• Lead projects which are linked with the responsible processes and equipment.
• Build targets, Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and report the results of the corresponding actions.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• educational requirement is BS or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering/Material Science.
• 5+ years of pipe/steel industry experience is preferred or relevant experience in a related industry.
• Higher Education (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) is preferred.

• Ideal: System knowledge of furnaces, burners and refractories.

Operation
