Emergency Services Specialist (Finance)
PURPOSE
The Emergency Services Specialist (ESS) is responsible for providing supervision and care for clients while maintaining an atmosphere of safety and respect. The ESS provides a structured daily living routine, ensures clients basic needs are being met, and documents all client behaviors, peer interactions, and engagement in programming. The ESS is responsible for completing client intakes and incident reporting. They are also responsible for facilitating group sessions and recreation daily. Emergency Services Specialists may be required to prepare and serve meals and snacks.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE/SKILL
A Bachelors degree in a Human Services or related field is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS/EFFORT
Client Supervision:
Provide direct supervision of the clients, ensuring their presence and safety; responsible for knowing whereabouts and activities of clients at all times when supervising.Serve as an appropriate role model for clients and maintain professionalism at all times. Continually model respectful behavior, social skills, appropriate boundaries, and other behavior that will be expected from the clients.Effectively manage client group dynamics.Understand and effectively supervise each aspect of the daily routine.Instruct and assist clients in completing their assigned daily household chores and laundry so they learn proper cleaning techniques and expectations.Plan and facilitate group sessions as scheduled to instruct clients in basic social skills, life skills, and provide other learning opportunities that are age and developmentally appropriate.Plan and facilitate recreation activities that provide an adequate level of physical activity for the clients.Plan and prepare meals as necessary to Dept of Education standards.Understand client behavior management system; implement goals and privileges consistently.Maintain thorough knowledge of all clients to ensure safe, effective supervision.Provide crisis interventions as needed.Document client behavior and other relevant/required information for each shift in daily Client Logs.Provide/obtain immediate medical care when emergencies occur.Provide back-up to AEA classroom teachers in case of emergency.Notify Supervisors/On-call of emergencies/Incident ReportsComplete incident reporting documentation and notification protocols.
Client File Management/Documentation:
Complete client admissions and necessary paperwork on shift as necessaryMaintain thorough knowledge of all client Service Plan for new clients according to information collected at intake, including information from Parents/Guardians and Referral Workers, and according to licensing standards.
Potential Client Calls:
Receive calls for referral and placement; collect information and make referral connections to YSS or other community resources as needed according to procedure.Maintain working knowledge of applicable Community Resources in community and surrounding communities in order to provide accurate information to callers in need of service.Complete CWES Screening Tool for callers requesting service/placement; begin admission paperwork if the call results in placement.Access supervisors/On-Call staff to identify appropriate level of CWES engagement referral calls as necessary.
Facility/Grounds:
Field telephone calls and greet visitors in a courteous, professional manner; screen visitors before they enter facility to ensure safety.Ensure safe living conditions are provided and the facility is in compliance with Fire, Safety, Health, and all other licensure standards; submit work orders, inform Maintenance Staff and Supervisors if needed when repair/maintenance is required.Facilitate monthly client group session instructing clients on Fire and Tornado Safety. Conduct monthly Fire and Tornado Drills when rotation is on YS shift.Submit Work Orders as necessary when repair/maintenance is required to ensure timely completion by Maintenance Staff.Document mileage in RDS Van mileage log whenever van is used.Ensure Van is clean and fueled when needed. Inform Supervisors immediately if maintenance/repair is needed.Ensure grounds are clean and free of trash. Submit Work Order if additional maintenance is required.
General:
Maintain knowledge of YSS Policy and Procedure Manual and all updates/revisions.Maintain knowledge of Client Handbook and Staff Training Manual.Maintain knowledge of YSS Client Handbook and all updates/revisions.Understand on-call procedures and utilize in emergency.Display respect toward coworkers, clients and families, and all other professionals and their individual situations and differences.Utilize direct, appropriate communication among coworkers to promote a healthy team.Meet with supervisor and attend all staff meetings, YSS trainings, retreats, and any other meetings as necessary or assigned by the Director/Designee.Maintain updated certification in all required trainings.

TRAVEL
