Associate Applications Engineer (Engineering)
Position Description:
This position reports to the Applications Group Manager. The Associate Applications Engineer will work closely with ZYGO's sales, marketing and engineering teams while interfacing with customers during pre- and post- sales activities. In this highly technical position you are expected to become an expert operator of ZYGO's optical metrology instrumentation and have the ability to define the optimum solution to meet the specific requirements of a metrology application.
•Become a key customer-facing technical resource by becoming an expert user of Zygo's metrology instrumentation
•Support the sales team through customer sample measurements, instrument demonstrations, and measurement reports
•Perform onsite training of customers through individual visits as well as supporting tradeshows, technical meetings, and conferences
•Stay abreast of new industry developments, trends, and applications
•Assess the performance of ZYGO products from a user's point of view
•Investigate new uses of ZYGO's technology
•Work closely with R+D and engineering to communicate customer feedback, develop new product features, and troubleshoot issues
•Create and/or review technical documentation and marketing collateral such as application notes, webinars, videos, and presentations
•Other duties as assigned by manager
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics
Comfortable with 40% travel time to support required field work.
Optical metrology experience is desirable.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
