The University of Pittsburgh Drug Discovery Institute (UPDDI) has developed the MPS-Db as an internet resource to support the development and application of microphysiology systems (MPS) in drug discovery and development, as well as personalized medicine. The UPDDI has funding to commercialize the database and market to pharmaceutical and biotech companies that are adopting MPS models through the formation of a new company. We are looking to hire a talented and dedicated individual to manage the product development and marketing efforts during the formation of the company and who can transition to the new company in the next 12 months. The product/applications manager will have significant experience in product management and /or marketing of informatics products to the Pharmaceutical industry, ideally informatics products. Incumbent will be responsible for developing marketing materials, leading the commercialization team and working with prospective customers to identify essential product features, and the creation of application notes on all aspects of the MPS-Db. Incumbent will report to the business manager and PIs, and work closely with sciVelo, the software development manager, PIs, and customer support specialists until the spin-off of the company. Incumbent will organize presentations for conferences and present product roadmap features to prospective customers.MS in a biomedical science, MBA, or equivalent experience in product management. At least 2 years experience in marketing of bioinformatics and/or database software products, ideally to the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries Experience with web-based products. Experience in or significant knowledge of drug discovery, biomedical science, microphysiology systems, and in vitro assays.
