RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintains a leadership role as a driver of change for continuous improvement of the processes through effective communication and collaboration at all levels in the organization.
  • Leads and participates in the APQP process, ensuring all aspects of a new product launch or part modification are accurate and timely.
  • Develops control plans, FMEAs, PFMEAs and PPAPs, including submitting to customers in a timely manner.
  • Creates and revises shop floor work instructions and ensures they are up to date and effective in conveying requirements to associates.
  • Manages QMS documentation and revisions.
  • Manages the plant calibration system.
  • Develops and maintains quality metrics used to measure plant, customer and supplier performance.
  • Builds and grows customer relationships by providing high levels of service and commitment through excellent service, communication, and quick responses that address questions or concerns.
  • Resolves customer complaints in a timely manner with focus on acting quickly to respond to customer's needs.
  • Creates and maintains ICARs, SCARs, DMDs, etc. to ensure accurate recording and reporting of non-conformances.
  • Utilizes Six Sigma methods to drive continuous improvement of the processes.
  • Leads cross functional teams to collaborate and uses the 8D problem solving process to determine the root cause of issues including working with others to develop corrective and preventative actions that are sustainable.
  • Other assignments as directed by management.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BSc. in Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Between 5-7 years experience in a quality engineering/management role within a manufacturing business. Quality experience in automotive manufacturing considered a strong asset.
  • Experience in managing a certified ISO 9001 environment, or similar QMS.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis on quality issues.  Can recommend and implement solutions to prevent recurrence. 
  • Superior customer service skills to address external and internal customer needs.
  • Ability to support and influence change for continuous improvement and growth. 
  • Knowledge of G, D & T and use of measurement devices, including CMM.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, including strong presentation skills.
  • Experience with CNC Machines, tube bending equipment, metrology and calibration systems considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical and process/product investigation skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access) and Gantt charts.
