QA SPECIALIST - 1st (Sales)
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES: include the following
• Complies with all applicable standards such as FDA, relevant CFRs, GFSI / SQF, and other applicable customer requirements.
• Adheres to HARPC, HACCP, Allergen Control Program, GMPs, product specifications, and other QA plans and required process control procedures to ensure processes, work in progress, raw materials and finished goods meet the specified quality and standards.
• Work with QA technicians to ensure compliance with customer, internal, SQF, and / or other identified regulatory requirements and business needs.
• Performs and supports changeovers in production area as required.
• Supports manufacturing operations (upstream and downstream) and staff as needed to identify and address product quality and compliance issues as they arise.
• Supports operations to encourage a Quality Culture and ensure a safe working environment.
• Reviews documentation associated with production operations. Ensures adequate levels of documentation are acceptable and compliant to existing procedures.
• Reviews and audits production batch records to ensure adherence to company policies, SOPs, and GMP requirements
• Maintains proper documentation and reports
• Supports and performs Raw Material Disposition as required
• Participates in process improvement initiatives targeting for Right First Time (RFT) on documentation.
• Performs Plant Internal Audits as per SQF Code (Internal Audits, GMP audits, Glass and Brittle Plastic Audits).
• Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
• Oversees plant Pest Control activities.
• Identify improvement needs for the QA Department.
• Maintain a safe work environment and identify activity-based safety objectives for the facility.
• Manages third party lab tests for the Plant according to corporate programs and procedures
• Ensure calibration system is in place, functional and appropriately documented.
• Assist with root cause analysis of quality related issues, waste and scrap reduction
• Archives QA/Corrective Action files as necessary.
• Participates in departmental meetings as necessary.
• Prepares reports and assists in audit preparations as needed.
• Performs Quality Audits at vendor sites, as needed.
• Follows all safety regulations established by the company, company policies and GMP'S.
• Conducts tests and inspects production at all Wenner Bread production and storage facilities as assigned by QA Director and / or QA Manager.
• Maintains specifications, color charts and technical information in right order. Distributes new versions when needed and is responsible for training and destruction of older versions of the technical spec sheets and color charts.
• Verifies pre-ops Inspections.
• Completes job-related training as required
• Other QA tasks as assigned by QA Manager or Director
