Where does the Quality Engineer fit in?
The Quality Engineer ensures that all products and processes meet customer and regulatory requirements through robust quality planning, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves close collaboration with production, engineering, and customer teams to maintain compliance with IATF 16949 and other applicable standards in the automotive injection molding environment.
What you can expect as our next Quality Engineer:
· Design, implement, and sustain reliable quality systems aligned with manufacturing requirements and industry standards.
· Support new product launches and transfers to production through the APQP process, including preparation and submission of PPAPs for both new and existing products.
· Develop, maintain, and update quality documentation, including Control Plans, PFMEAs, Process Flow Diagrams, and related manufacturing documents.
· Supervise Quality Control Inspectors, including task delegation, quality issue resolution, performance reviews, and maintenance of inspection records.
· Provide leadership and prioritization to the CMM Technician, ensuring timely and accurate dimensional verification.
· Conduct on-site customer visits as needed, particularly in response to complaints, quality spills, or escalated issues.
· Collaborate with the Customer Quality Liaison, offering direction and support, including preparation of rework instructions and communication of quality concerns.
· Organize and coordinate quality training sessions for the Quality Department and related functions.
· Oversee the Layered Process Audit (LPA) system to ensure audits are completed on schedule and findings are addressed.
· Promote a culture of continuous improvement through active participation in Kaizen events and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
· Lead containment activities and manage the disposition of non-conforming materials, both internally and at customer locations.
· Address internal and external quality issues, coordinating response teams for containment, root cause analysis, and communication across relevant departments.
· Drive effective implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) through structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5-Why).
· Validate the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions through follow-up audits and data analysis.
· Serve as a direct point of contact with customers regarding APQP deliverables, PPAP status, and product quality issues.
· Conduct process capability (Cp, Cpk) and performance (Pp, Ppk) studies to assess and improve process stability.
· Define gauge and fixture requirements; assist in the design, procurement, calibration, and maintenance of inspection tools.
· Assist in the development, implementation, and review of quality policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
· Evaluate parts, processes, and inspection systems to identify opportunities for improved product quality and operational efficiency
· Evaluate parts and processes for continuous improvement of production operations
· Perform dimensional layouts as required
· Ensure compliance to IATF 16949 systems and procedures
· Perform other quality related activities as required
Do you have what is takes to be our next Quality Engineer?

Minimum 3 years of experience working as a Quality Engineer or equivalent in the automotive industry, preferably in Plastic Injection Molding and/or assembly process
University degree within the engineering field and/or related experience
ASQ CQE Certification is preferred
Experience in launching new programs for various OEMs (FCA, Tesla, VW)
Good understanding of IATF 16949:2016 and Quality Management System
Hands-on experience in AIAG Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP) along with continuous improvement (customer support) and systemic/product quality
Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Knowledge of use, calibration, and measurement analysis of various inspection and testing instruments
Strong knowledge of statistical process control and statistical methods
Strong written and oral communication skills
Tech savvy & Strong computer skills
Able to work flexible hours and overtime
Able to travel to customer/supplier destinations within North America with short notice
