Chief Financial Officer (Finance)
Provide leadership for all phases of the company's operations, with special emphasis on long-range goals, growth, profit, and return on investment.
Manage and direct the organization toward its primary objectives on the basis of profit and return on capital.
Establish objectives and long-range goals, plans and policies, through consultation with managers and the approval of the board of directors.
Work closely with CEO/COO to develop and carry out major plans, coordinate operations of all divisions to complement companywide goals, and ensure that operations are being executed in accordance with policies.
Monitor implementation of initiatives; measures achievements against objectives; and directs modification of plans as conditions warrant.
Oversee adequacy and soundness of the organization's financial structure.
Maintain a constant review of financial results of all operations.
Review operating results, comparing them with established objectives, and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
Ensure that the company complies with all government regulatory requirements.
Present regular reports on operations to the board of directors.
Head any team of executives considering major decisions such as acquisitions, mergers, spin-offs, joint ventures, or large-scale expansions or building proposals.
Promote cooperation and communication among divisions to foster unity of purpose.
Represent the company in dealing with board of directors, shareholders, employees, customers, the government, and the public at large.
Manage appropriate accounting processes and associated checks and balances to insure daily, weekly, monthly and annual accounting information is accurate and correctly reflects financial position of the company.
Prepare monthly financial statements. Analyze and review monthly results with management team and assist in development of actionable items to correct and enhance company profitability.
Prepare appropriate tax reporting forms for various state and local taxing authorities.
Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance.
Plan and assist year-end review of accounting records by outside accounting firm for the preparation of annual financial report and tax returns.
Review all financial statements and ledgers, and work with the accounting staff to clear up any discrepancies.
Manage banking operations which include cash management, disbursement and receipt management and related reconciliation and reporting.
Standardize, document and improve accounting-related processes and internal controls across the organization.
Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed.
Develop and monitor business performance metrics.
Supervise and train Corporate Accounting Team in the functions of Payroll, A/R, A/P, bank deposits, journal entries, bank statement reconciliation, vendor relationships, filing systems, etc.
Mentor and coach staff to achieve optimal job performance. Support and encourage career development.
Participate in staff selection/interview process. Recruit, hire, and oversee training of accounting staff.
Promote positive employee relations and resolve employee issues. Support team building with positive and open communication.
