Houseperson, Part time (Harrah's Gulf Coast) (Finance)
Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring linen/supply closets are stocked on each assigned floor and providing linen to Guest Room Attendants as requested.
Must clean and maintain assigned guest hallways, elevator landings and stairwells.
Initiates Friendly Greeting, Smiles and Makes Eye Contact, Demonstrates Upbeat and Positive Attitude, Checks for Satisfaction, Provides a Warm Farewell and follows the house rules of Family Style Service
Provides assistance and support to assigned Guest Room Attendants by stripping rooms, removing soiled linen, trash and providing supplies.
Familiar with proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment including carpet/floor care.
To maintain the cleanliness of the guest room floors and storage closets as needed.
Picks up linen and garbage from housekeeping carts throughout the day.
Performs special projects assigned by supervisors.
Follow safety and security procedures.
Must be able to stand for 8 hours at a time.
Adhere to all rules, regulations, policies & procedure
Notifies management of any potential or current problems and issues.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, must present a well-groomed appearance.
Qualifications:
Previous housekeeping experience preferred, but will train excellent applicants.
Must be able to communicate via a radio.
Able to read, write, speak and understand English.
Must pass a drug test.
Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
Must be able to initiate and engage in conversation in a professional and friendly manner.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Maintain knowledge of current property events, promotions and attractions.
Must be able to work independently, with little supervision.
Comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Superior communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team setting and independently.
Must present a well-groomed appearance.
Must adhere to uniform/appearance requirements.
Ability to appreciate and be friendly with all Harrah's Gulf Coast team members who are of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Able to accept direction of Senior Leadership.
Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands:
Able to read, write and speak English sufficiently to perform job.
Available to work any shift, holidays and weekends.
Must be able to maneuver in Hotel areas, up and down stairs and reach above shoulder level.
Able to push, pull and carry up to 100 pounds.
Able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke.
Must be able to work in temperatures in excess of 115 degrees and in cold temperatures as low as 40 degrees.
Respond to visual and aural curs.
Able to use and operate vacuum cleaners, floor cleaning equipment, dustpans and brooms.
Must be able to work around crowded areas.
Must be able to read labels on chemical bottles.
Able to tolerate cleaning chemicals without developing and allergic reaction.
Ability to tolerate the smell and residue of cleaning products used in work and back of house areas.
Must be able to use and wear two-way radio w/ earpiece, and other equipment, as required.
Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
