Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will perform daily laboratory tasks including installation and maintenance of test compressors in The Reliability Life testing area of the Product Evaluation Lab.
AS A MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN - HVAC/R, YOU WILL:
Perform tests on durability test stands, and bench testing equipment in accordance with lab procedures.
Be proficient in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
Meet the physical demands of the position which include manipulation of average to heavy weights (up to 50 lbs.), standing for extended periods of time, use of hand tools, cutting and brazing equipment.
Handle verbatim compliance with refrigerant handling procedures.
Exhibit leadership skills, good written, verbal communications, and organizational skills as well as good math skills.
Process ELT work instructions, summarize and document test results.
Fabricate unique test set-ups.
Set-up and operate data acquisition systems.
Set-up and install flow meters, control valves, and other controls required to test compressors

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
New hires are eligible for a Sign-On Bonus: $2000, minus applicable taxes. To be paid within first month with company.
New hires are eligible for a Retention Bonus after 1 Year: $1000, minus applicable taxes.

Growth and Development Opportunities
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
High School Diploma plus 2-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent Mechanical, HVAC, electrical, or electronic skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent PC skills.
Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Associate Degree (Mechanical Engineering or HVAC) or equivalent plus 1 year of experience.
E.P.A. universal refrigerant handling certification.
Experience with data acquisition systems.
Experience with mechanical systems, compression equipment, high speed rotating motion mechanisms, rotor dynamics, or electrical components.

The newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for the air conditioning and cold chain businesses. Through our 30 years of scroll compressor expertise, our air conditioning related products help bring comfort and convenience in commercial, industrial and residential spaces. The cold chain business helps ensure that food safely and efficiently travels from farm to fork. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney, who all support a multitude of business functions.
