Software Engineering Intern (Finance)
The HPE Consumption Analytics Portal provides visibility and control for HPE GreenLake Edge-to-Cloud services. The portal provides granular visibility into the usage and costs with interactive dashboards via standard reports and widgets as well as the ability to create custom reports. Using a rules-based recommendation engine, interactive charts and tables, the portal provides the forecasting of demand to plan capacity for workloads. The portal also provides flexible budget capabilities to create budget targets, view charts and configure automatic notifications to manage capacity budgets.
With this position, we are seeking a Software Engineering Intern. You will fulfill a role in developing products and services for the GreenLake Edge-to-Cloud Platform. This includes development and testing of a multi-tenant, SaaS, RESTful web services using Java, AWS Cloud Services, Elasticsearch and DynamoDB. You will leverage modern cloud deployment methodologies as you work in an agile environment. You must also be an excellent English language communicator (verbal and written) who is comfortable working in a hybrid environment (face-to-face and virtual).
Responsibilities:
• You will build and enhance your knowledge in software development methodologies, principles, practices and the software development lifecycle
• Collaborate as a member of a software engineering team to design and develop innovative products and services for the GreenLake Edge-to-Cloud Platform
• Contribute to the design, development and testing of technologies in distributed computing environment, including UI, backend and/or datastore
• Work in an agile environment to deliver high quality software
Minimum Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
• Experience with at least one modern programming language such as Java, Golang, Python, C/C++ or C#
• Experience with version control, preferably Git
• Exposure to Agile methods and practices
Preferred Qualifications
• A hunger to learn and a passion for software development, fearlessly diving into new technologies
• Experience with public cloud technologies, distributed systems, datastores, client-side UI apps, or test automation frameworks
• Some exposure to full-stack Java software development developing RESTful APIs, a modern, responsive UI and tools such as Maven, Chef, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
• Proficient at handling ambiguous situations including design, development, debugging and testing
• Effective communicator and collaborator in a highly technical environment
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment (both face-to-face and virtual)
