The Leader of Colocation leads Equinix colocation products and services development, working closely with the product management, operations, sales/GTM and other cross functional stakeholders in scaling our global colocation product line. They will prioritize and executes the colocation roadmap with internal stakeholders and evangelize product capabilities internally and externally Lead, design, and execute on our product strategy on Equinix colocation products and services.
This role reports to the EVP & General Manager, Data Center Services and is responsible for building and accelerating colocation products and will be responsible for the overall P&L of a ~$5B global product line. The role interacts with a heavily matrixed set of senior global leaders to collaboratively drive improvements and accelerate growth in the business. This leader will ensure colocation product development processes are scalable, secure, agile, consistent, fit for purpose and continue to evolve as technology changes. This role will be responsible for developing and articulating impactful R&D recommendation to leadership, stay current with industry technology trend, and working closely with product and technology organizations. This role will directly lead a team of approximately 25 employees yet have far-reaching influence on much of our Global Operations and Sales teams.
Responsibilities
Drive profitability and growth of a $5B revenue global product line, maximizing ROIC on $3B capex deployed annually and helping evolve process and support for thousands of employees globally.
Prioritizes and executes the roadmap with internal stakeholders and evangelizes product capabilities internally and externally Lead, design, and execute on our product strategy on Equinix colocation products and services.
Responsible for figuring out how we care for lifecycle management of shared cross product capabilities to create a consistent/coherent end user experience for both direct and indirect customer experiences and ensure efficient colocation product development.
Responsible for monitoring the market and internal stakeholder input to set the product vision and strategy and ensure overall growth and profitability of Colocation product
Lead necessary business simplification and enhancements to support colocation products
Provide operational excellence in colocation product reliability and availability for the colocation products and services
Leads a business process optimization team and business insights team within the Colocation team
Ensure colocation product development processes are scalable, secure, agile, fit for purpose and continue to evolve as technology changes
Support the success of direct customers, resellers, and partners in consumption of the colocation product
Strategically evaluate and drive alignment and decision making around new technology working in collaboration across product management, architecture, operations, CTO, and CIO organization.
Drive innovation among the teams, recognize innovation, and help communicate new ideas across teams in multiple global locations
Define the expected financial, operational and customer experience performance of the platform and product lines and ensure performance against these expectations:
Financial: Monitor financial performance to ensure revenue and costs align to expected results
Operational: Ensure products are being delivered and are performing within defined operational expectations.
Customer Experience: Monitor, systematically assess, improve and simplify the overall customer and sales experience at both the platform and product line levels
Qualifications
15+ years of experience at a high growth tech company or technology-focused enterprise in product engineering leading large global software development teams
Strong Data Center and general Management experience
Proven thought leadership in leading product development
Executive presence and demonstrated success building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and influencing and collaborating in cross-functional environments
Demonstrated experience building a thriving culture aligned to Equinix values
Master's degree in Product Management, Business, or Technology area preferred
