Manager Accounting- Fiber Revenue (Manufacturing)



Position Title: Manager, Accounting- Fiber Revenue (M2)

Role

The Manager Accounting, which oversees revenue acocunting within the Company's fiber segment, acts as a general ledger subject matter expert and is responsible for overseeing various revenue accounting functions, including contract abstraction, recording of monthly revenue, reconciliations, and financial analysis. This role is also responsible for managing and driving major process enhancements, including cross-functional projects and revenue accounting-related system changes.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and provide leadership for fiber segment revenue monthly close process, ensuring financial statements and accounting policies comply with US GAAP
  • Manage day-to-day fiber segment revenue accounting operations
  • Review and present fiber segment revenue variance analysis to senior management
  • Develop, monitor and maintain the Company's fiber segment revenue accounting policies in accordance with GAAP and control procedures in accordance with SOX. Guide cross-functional teams' compliance with accounting policies
  • Partner with the Technical Accounting team on the implementation of new revenue related accounting pronouncements by researching, reviewing, and analyzing the applicable accounting guidance
  • Partner with the Technical Accounting team in the creation and maintaining of documentation related to fiber segment revenue recognition conclusions. Ensure that revenue is recorded per the established conclusions
  • Review various schedules used directly in SEC and other public filings
  • Coordinate and prepare for both internal and external financial audits and act as a liaison to the auditors including managing timetables and deadlines
  • Continually analyze processes for improvements and work with business partners to drive change
  • Act as the fiber segment revenue accounting liaison in partnership with IT and other resources with regards to system changes
  • Build an effective team by creating an environment of accountability and prioritizing employee development
  • Manage ambiguity and operate effectively even when things are not clear or certain

 

Expectations

  • Strong knowledge of diverse accounting processes
  • Expert knowledge of accounting principles (U.S. GAAP)
  • Accounting expertise in basic financial statement fundamentals, ledgers and journal entries
  • Experience using accounting ERPs
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, and work effectively in deadline-driven environment
  • Effective communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to diagnose and solve workflow problems
  • Strong business and financial acumen

Education/Certifications  

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant and/or MBA preferred

 

Experience/Minimum Requirements  

  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years of combined experience in public accounting and general accounting

 

Organizational Relationship  

  

Reports to: Director, Technical Accounting and Reporting 

  

Title(s) of direct reports (if applicable): Supervisors, Accounting; Staff Accountants 

  

Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office on Monday through Thursday.  On Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home.  There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel.
