Coordinator, Community Engagement (Finance)



Department: Stu Involvement & Leadership Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
Description:

The Coordinator, Community Engagement is responsible for leading and supporting programs that strengthen student involvement and foster a connected campus environment. This position focuses on the design and implementation of campus-wide initiatives, including community building, support systems, and civic and community engagement programs. The Coordinator provides guidance to student leaders and oversees projects that enhance co-curricular learning and personal development. A component of this role is building collaborative partnerships across campus to support student-centered community programming.

Duties:
  • Oversees the planning, execution, and evaluation of campus-wide community-building initiatives designed to enhance student engagement and connection. Develops experiences for students to build relationships, grow as leaders, and explore new experiences. Supports late night and weekend programs as needed.
  • Coordinates large-scale events and recurring initiatives that create opportunities for students to connect with one another and with the broader campus community. Designs and facilitates co-curricular learning opportunities focused on personal development, leadership, and student involvement.
  • Develops and implements targeted programs that support college students through events, access to campus resources, navigating college life, and succeeding academically, socially, and personally.
  • Facilitates workshops, retreats, and trainings to support the development of student leadership and peer mentorship to prepare students for leadership roles and enhance their engagement with peers.
  • Assists in the recruitment, training, and supervision of student staff and volunteers supporting community engagement programs. Provides oversight to student leaders involved in civic and community-based initiatives.
  • Advises students on opportunities to get involved on campus and connects students with campus partners for college or divisional engagement opportunities. Leads department outreach efforts for the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership, including tabling opportunities, orientation events, information sessions, and other collaborations with campus partners.
  • Responsible for maintaining department event calendar, department website, marketing and promotional materials, and department social media channels to highlight student involvement opportunities. Collaborates with Division of Student Affairs marketing team to provide marketing and advertising support for department events.
  • Coordinates and administers the collection, compilation, and analysis of program activity data and feedback mechanisms. Prepares summaries and reports on student involvement in campus programs.
  • Collaborates with office staff on all department programs, special projects, and other community building events. Collaborates with staff outside of the Office to Student Involvement and Leadership to host events and activities. Serves on divisional and university-wide committees and advisory boards and performs related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree.
  2. Experience working in a college or university setting.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience supporting, working with, developing, and implementing student programs and events.
  • Bilingual Skillset.

  • Knowledge of student development theories and best practices.
  • Knowledge of group dynamics and supervision.
  • Skills in collaborative event planning and coordination.
