Clinical Applications Coordinator/IT Customer Service (Information Technology)



The Clinical Applications Coordinator (CAC) assists with the planning, implementation, maintenance, and providing of technical support for the agency's electronic health systems (EHR), RPMS.  The CAC is responsible for reviewing RPMS and EHR configurations and assessing its impact on clinic workflow. The position supports the daily interface between clinical staff and the EHR.  The IT Specialist work is to provide technical assistance backup as well as support and advice to customers and end users.  This position also serves as the liaison between local users and the Site Manager as well as IT Specialists outside the Facility. The IT support will also be asked to assist in upgrade installations, testing and evaluating various software programs, as well as detect and resolve minor problems of the WZZHC integrated information system that is used for the management of both clinical and administrative information in the healthcare facility.  (RPM/EHR and the IT Environment).

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, technology management, or in any other Medical Related Field. (Must submit copy of transcripts) preferred.
  • 2 plus years serving as a Clinical Applications Coordinator using the RPMS/EHR systems that the Indian Health Service utilizes preferred.

  • Applicant must be able to be credentialed by the Indian Health Service to hold Administrator rights on government systems.  

  • Knowledge of privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations. (HIPAA)

  • Knowledge of patient care activities and how the services and functions interact.

  • Knowledge of clinical, healthcare-related, and Microsoft software applications.   Dragon Template Creation is a plus.

  • Skill in troubleshooting computer software applications in a multiple operating system environment.

  • Skill in training users in specialized software applications.

  • Skill in understanding medical records procedures and protocols.

  • Skill in operating a personal computer, utilizing a variety of software applications.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and superiors, to speak in front of groups and to communicate in writing policies, procedures, and training materials.

  • Ability to operate and communicate effectively under pressure.

  • Extensive knowledge of a broad range of patient care activities, working knowledge of the clinical environment and the different services and functions interaction.

  • Knowledge of general office procedures, including answering phones, directing calls, photocopying, faxing, etc.

  • Must possess excellent writing and speaking abilities

  • Must have the ability to work across disciplines with various funding sources and grant criteria

  • Must obtain/develop familiarity of Osage language and culture

  • Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents the Nation

  • Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics

  • Requires a high level of problem solving skills

  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times

  • Requires ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs

  • Requires good interpersonal communication and team work skills

  • Requires willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessions

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check

  • Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing

  • Must have a valid driver's license – may be required to drive GSA or Nation vehicles
