POSITION SUMMARY:
The Guideline Development Manager works with volunteers and the quality team to develop guidelines and systematic reviews that improve the quality of care for neurological patients, This position is responsible for the efficient day-to-day facilitation of a portfolio of AAN guidelines in development, serves as the primary liaison for the Guidelines Subcommittee, and operationalizes program improvements in collaboration with the Guidelines and Measures Project Manager.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Guideline Development
•Serves as staff liaison managing neurology expert panels to draft guideline protocols and guideline products. Ensures accurate reflection of evidence synthesis and recommendation development, supports public and internal comment periods and manuscript reviews.
•Collaborates on advanced librarian service process steps with appropriate team members (document search strategy, obtain abstracts and articles, distribute articles and abstracts to authors, and tracks results)
•Track project materials and ensures effective communication on project goals and timeline between author panels and the Guidelines and Measures Project Manager
•Works collaboratively with team, leadership, and physician leadership to continuously improve the process used to develop AAN guideline products.
Subcommittee Liaison
•Serves as primary support staff to the Guidelines Subcommittee developing agendas, managing teleconferences and meetings, developing minutes, and ensuring their goals are met.
Administrative Duties
•Assists with maintenance of guideline web pages.
•Assist with maintenance of guideline project databases and project timelines

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
•Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Health Care Management, Project Management or related field, or Library Science is required
•Equivalent combination of additional experience beyond the minimum requirement and/or education may be substituted for degree requirement
Experience:
•Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar quality improvement role within an association or healthcare setting is required
•Minimum of 1 year of project management experience is required
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Provides clear instructions to work groups and authors panels is required
•Demonstrate skill, tact, diplomacy, confidentiality, and professionalism in interactions with authors and other relevant individuals or groups is required
•Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office for word, spreadsheet, and presentations is required
•Excellent time management skills, ability to deliver results when facing multiple projects with tight deadlines is required
•Highly organized with attention to detail is required
•Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is required
•Ability to work independently as well as actively contribute to project teams is required
ADDITIONAL POSITION INFORMATION:
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel required – approximately 5%
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Schedule: Occasional evenings and weekends required
Physical Requirements: Standard office setting, with ability to sit for long periods of time, occasional use of stairs; regular use of computer and office equipment, lifting up to 10 lbs.
