Catering Sales Manager (Finance)
Summary of Responsibilites:
• Exceeds personal sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
• Handles incoming inquiries for events with limited guest rooms and function space and a short lead time to book (specific parameters defined by the hotel)
• Solicits catering /banquet business through action plan preparation and execution
• Independently responsible for achievement of objectives, as outlined in the action plans
• Within established parameters, quotes and negotiates prices, confirming by written contracts
• Discusses all details for the function with the client and prepares BEO for client signature
• Meets client upon arrival to review function details and maintains visibility throughout program
• Meets client prior to departure to ensure that all promises were delivered and to solicit any future business for the hotel or for other FRHI hotel
• Maintains positive relationships with all guests, vendors, colleagues and global sales network
• Determines and recommends prospective customers from market information and resources
• Participates in the d.a.r.t. Referral Program for referring business to sister hotels/brands
• Conduct and/or attend daily meeting to review event contracts and ensure last minute changes are communicated with appropriate departments
• Maintains account, contact, activity and business details within Opera S&C according to Accor standards
• Compiles detailed client information on meeting room set-ups, attendance, times, audio visual equipment requirements, meal functions and entertainment requests
• Creates floor plans for the best use of the space
• Obtains rooming list details when needed and communicates with Reservation Department
• Requests and obtains deposits where applicable and forwards to Accounting
• Obtains and logs appropriate credit information on file for each account
• Obtains attendance guarantees for food & beverage events and communicates via Banquet Event Order (BEO).
• Prepares and distributes accurate and timely convention resumes to all departments when needed
• Follow departmental policies and procedures
• Follow all safety policies
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Previous leadership experience within a similar role required
• Previous Salesexperience preferred
• Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
• University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Customer Service focused
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
