Regional Outreach Project Manager, Helena, MT (Finance)
The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is looking for a project manager to join its Regional Outreach and Public Programs team, reporting to the Assistant Vice President. In this role, you will provide program support for the Bank's public outreach work, developing and implementing public outreach and engagement programs, and producing and supporting virtual and in-person events. While much of the work will be production- and event-oriented, a successful applicant will also have the ability to deliver basic educational presentations as needed.
While this position is currently virtual due to COVID-19, it will ultimately be based at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis' branch office in Helena, Montana. Applicants should be willing to work on-site in the Helena office by the end of 2021 if COVID protocols allow.
Job Responsibilities
Event Coordination
Design, organize, and implement virtual and in-person events that promote the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis' mission and initiatives. Responsibilities include organizational logistics, speaker and participant communications, event moderation, promotion (including writing marketing communications and assisting with developing and implementing marketing and media relations plans), and event follow-up and evaluation.
Support for Bank President's Outreach Trips
Coordinate the Fed President's outreach trips throughout the region. Secure venues, arrange meetings, develop and implement marketing plans, recruit attendees, and help develop briefing materials. Provide in-person staff support at those President's events held in Montana.
Communications
In addition to the marketing and promotions work described above, work with the Bank's media relations team to draft press releases to promote Fed experts, content, and events and develop contacts with local media. Represent the Federal Reserve in public forums to share and grow the Bank's outreach, public engagement, and education efforts. Be a subject matter expert for community groups and local media on the roles of the Fed and the Helena Branch. This may include public speaking and presentations, or media interviews with local media.
Outreach
Cultivate and build relationships with community and business leaders, particularly in the state of Montana, to increase the Bank's visibility, public understanding, and outreach. Coordinate with other Bank staff who work in outreach roles both in Helena and Minneapolis. Help the outreach team improve its use of customer relationship management software to track contacts and activities.
Tours
Provide coordination and administrative support for Bank's tour programs in Minneapolis and Helena. Conduct occasional public tours of the Helena Branch facility.Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of project management or community outreach and organizing experience, to include planning, scheduling, orchestrating, and evaluating virtual and in-person events.
Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience collaborating with diverse partner groups.
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and to collaborate across teams.
Ability to travel up to 10% of time.
Both a resume and cover letter are required for applicants to be considered for this position. A writing test may also be administered.
Preferred qualifications
Experience speaking to a variety of audiences.
Media relations experience.
Working knowledge of the Federal Reserve System.
