Laboratory Supervisor, Quality Control (Biotech)

Lonza Quakertown, PA has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Supervisor, Quality Control. The successful candidate will support a great team, in a great organization.  We are looking for someone with prior leadership experience, the ability to coach and develop a team, and someone with prior HPLC experience in a GMP environment (preferred).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the QC analysts, including assigning and scheduling daily tasks and projects. In addition to scheduling lab staffing.
  • Oversees all Quality Control testing and reviews laboratory records, reports and other documentation for accuracy, appropriateness and timeliness
  • Develop, optimize and validate test protocols, asses other analytical procedures to ensure consistency among testing methods
  • Ensure corporate, cGMP and GLP compliance of all activities within the department
  • Performs testing and/or sampling in a primary role and/or back-up role as needed
  • Participate in compliance audits, investigations and CAPA implementation
  • Management of Environmental Monitoring, Microbiological and Cleaning Validation/ Verification
  • Training of personnel on laboratory equipment
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment including calibration, preventative maintenance and performance qualification/validation.
  • Writing of laboratory related procedures
  • Other duties as required

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in a Scientific Discipline
  • 5 years of related experience
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of cGMP and GLP regulations and standard industry guidance.
  • Proficiency with MS office suite
  • Documentum and Trackwise knowledge
  • Strong skills at team facilitation, team organization, communications of priorities.
