Adult Outpatient Director (Personal Services)



KMHS is Kitsap's nonprofit, designated community mental health provider for adults with acute and/or chronic serious mental illnesses, and children with serious emotional disturbances and their families. During 2016, KMHS provided services to more than 6,800 children and adults. Adult Outpatient Director
 

As the Adult Outpatient Director for Kitsap Mental Health Services, you will provide administrative and clinical direction to assigned Adult Outpatient KMHS programs.  To ensure high quality, well coordinated clinical care.  To participate as a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) in the overall leadership of KMHS. At the end of the day, you enjoy not having a caseload and go home knowing your efforts directly impacted individuals of all ages in your community!

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work with the Agency's clinical directors and Quality Assurance/Utilization Management Director to ensure continuity of care for clients of KMHS.
  • Provide consistent direction and supervision to supervisees with a focus on the quality, appropriateness, continuity of clinical care, and recovery oriented services.
  • Work with the staff to establish each program's yearly goals and ensure contract compliance.  Participate in the Quality Program Review process.
  • Work with the Finance and Human Resources Chiefs, program managers and supervisors to develop and monitor program budgets, maximize fee collection, maintain meaningful IS data, and monitor facilities' needs.
  • Implement the administrative and clinical policies of KMHS.
  • Working with the Medical Director and Clinical Services Directors, ensure adequate psychiatric consultation and clinical coverage for all adult outpatient programs.
  • By working through unit supervisors, ensure that all documentation relative to client contacts is fully completed and submitted in an accurate and timely manner, in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify consumer and community needs and assist in enhancing and developing services to address identified needs.
  • Represent KMHS Adult Outpatient Services in the community and serve as liaison to other social service/community agencies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of county/regional plans and assure that programs operate in compliance with such plans and all appropriate statutes and regulations.
  • Work with Quality Assurance/Utilization Management to ensure a unit utilization management system that meets contractual obligations as well as clinical need.
  • Participate in organizational short and long-term visioning, strategic planning and goal development.
  • Participate in the agency's community relation activities.
  • Promote the enhancement of positive staff morale by facilitating timely response to problems and ensuring thorough and accurate internal communications.
  • Support and comply with the KMHS affirmative action program.
  • Recruit, hire and develop qualified staff including ongoing coaching and conducting performance appraisals.
  • In addition to the above, any other responsibilities appropriate to the position and not specifically listed in the job description.
  • Help plan and develop space needs for clinical services.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Mental Health Professional with five years of successful clinical experience; and five successful years of supervisory/administrative experience. 
  • Community mental health experience. 
  • Budget management experience.
