RN - Inpatient - Care Team Leader - Operating Room - Cardiothoracic - 100%FTE, Day/Evening – University Hospital (11368) (Healthcare)



We are seeking a Registered Nurse to:

  • Motivate and lead nursing staff while working in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
  • Mentor others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills.
  • Direct and lead nursing staff to ensure optimum patient care, efficient operations, quality service and sound financial management.
  • Analyze and resolve problems that fall outside the domain of the nurse clinician and collaborate with other departments and care providers. 

Education:
Minimum – Baccalaureate degree in nursing or ADN and achievement of BS in nursing within 5 years of hire.
Preferred – Baccalaureate degree in nursing

Work Experience:
Minimum – Two (2) years of experience in Surgical Services setting
Preferred – Three (3) years of experience in Surgical Services setting

Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum – Registration as a professional nurse in the State of Wisconsin. CPR certification.
Preferred – National certification in relevant specialty

  • Effectively teach patients, families and nursing staff
  • Facilitate quality improvement and standards of care
  • Provide constructive feedback and resolve conflicts
  • Prioritize workload when given multiple demands
  • Maintain professional communication and interactions in all situations
  • Develop members of the team for improved functioning and effectiveness

Physical Requirements:
Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule:
This is a 90% FTE (36 hours per week) position. Monday - Friday between the hours of
6:40 - 18:10. Holiday triage and call responsibility, weekday and weekend call responsibility. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
