General Responsibilities:
The Associate Vice President of Nursing fulfills a key leadership role in the development and advancement of excellence in primary care nursing at Thundermist. This leader will recruit develop and mentor nurse leaders within Thundermist and support their work as they develop staff in clinical support roles. The AVP of Nursing will ensure appropriate organization-wide training of nursing and medical assistant staff, working to establish uniformity of nursing services and further develop the role of nursing across all Thundermist locations.
Required Qualifications:
Most work performed in a general office environment with no extreme physical demands. Transportation needed for frequent external meetings. Role requires moderate physical activity; walking, standing, stooping, occasional lifting. Clinical environment includes potential exposure to blood borne pathogens, other infectious diseases and bio-hazardous material.
Work Schedule Demands:
Full time (40 hours, plus) five days per week. Work schedule will vary with some evening and weekend obligations.
Communication Skills:
Exceptional oral and written skills required. Proficient in health management terminology, including information and billing systems terminology, contractual language, tort language, medical terminology, financial terminology, along with federal and state public health program terminology.
Confidentiality of Information:
This position involves access to agency strategic and financial information, as well as access to patient records. Adherence to Thundermist policy, as well as state and federal regulations concerning privacy is required.
