We are looking for a full-time Media Relations Specialist to support our Aviation business segment at our headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for focusing on developing and building relationships and managing communication with journalists and other influencers for Garmin's Aviation business segment. You will lead media and public relations efforts to build awareness of Garmin's products and technologies for Garmin's general aviation, business aviation, helicopter, experimental and government/defense businesses, and facilitate the best possible editorial coverage in print, broadcast and online media. Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related field from an accredited four year college or university. Other requirements include:
Experience in/enthusiasm for navigation, consumer electronics, wireless and activities associated with Garmin products and services as well as experience with digital/social media are highly preferred.
