Community Resilience and Mitigation Planner - Mid-Level (Finance)
The selected candidate will contribute to the development of a variety of community and regional resilience planning work including but not limited to comprehensive plans, mitigation plans, master plans, strategic plans, resiliency plans, implementation plans, economic revitalization plans, disaster recovery plans, district and neighborhood plans, redevelopment plans, highest and best use plans, visual planning techniques and market analysis.
The individual will work in a team environment with staff members from various disciplines and will be responsible for performing a range of planning functions. Job responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

The ideal candidate will have 4-10 years' experience developing some or all of the following: comprehensive plans, mitigation plans, master plans, economic development plans, community development plans, resiliency plans, housing plans, infrastructure plans, brownfield redevelopment plans, revitalization plans, market studies, highest and best use plans, land use plans and ordinances and resiliency plans.

B.S degree in urban planning, regional planning, urban studies, resilience, landscape architecture, environmental studies, economics, or public administration is required. M.S. degree in one of the previously listed majors is preferred. Submittal of college transcript required.
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), Registered Landscape Architecture (RLA), GIS Professional (GISP), Certification in Floodplain Management (CFM), Project Management Professional (PMP),Certified Economic Development Professionals (CEcD) and/or other related certifications that may be applicable to planning and resilience.
Submittal of a writing sample illustrating personal content and style of technical, marketing or planning documents.
This position requires roughly 25% of your time traveling. You must be able to travel throughout the country to support project and marketing. You will participate on both driving and walking site tours throughout communities. Site tours of communities may involve many different types of terrain and conditions. Work and travel to client locations is required. Some work in the evenings and weekend may be required. This position requires you to drive on a regular basis and will require passing a motor vehicle record (MVR) background check.
