Business Development Manager (Finance)
The role of Business Development Manager is a key role in our markets to help drive new customer acquisition and customer growth. As a member of the community you work in, you'll meet other business leaders through social networking, cold calls, through leads and create opportunities for Peoplelink to impact the world of work in the markets we serve by effectively aligning talent and matching to customer needs. The Business Development Manager collaborates as a team member with both direct & indirect reporting in a matrix organization in developing and executing sales goals & strategy and a strong relationship with the service & delivery team.
Position Responsibilities
With Area Manager and/or VP, define branch sales objectives and plan
Define target accounts and map activities of these accounts
Set strategies for business growth in sales, gross margin and profitability
Expand client base
Perform cold calls in person and over the phone in order to set appointments
Understand and showcase new features and benefits for our service
Completion of win-win selling and aligning to the organizations sales methodology.
Develop and provide solution-based options to clients by following the Counselor Sales Process (CSP)
Effective use of PPP and Discovery Agreements in the sales process
Coordinate and conduct presentation/sales activity by advocating solutions that address customer's desired state
Negotiate pricing while maintaining a minimum Gross Profit expectation
Coordinate sales efforts with Area Manager or RVP and other PLG Stakeholders
Obtain job order requirements
High frequency engagement and visibility with customers post-sale
Set up new account information in operational software systems
Educate client on local economics and industry trends
Support new customer implementation with operations team
Collection on delinquent accounts, as directed by management
Obtain referrals and testimonials from clients
Follow up on sales leads provided by branch staff
Develop relationships with clients and prospects
Maintain complete and accurate documentation of active revenue opportunities as well as client or prospect information in operational software systems
Log and document client communications and sales activities in operational software system
Initiate on-going self-improvement in relation to job development
Be customer service driven and able to grow and develop a personal book of business while working with minimal supervision
Community involvement including Chamber of Commerce functions, Human Resource associations, community job fairs as well as other organizations
All other duties as assigned
Essential Skills and Functions
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities/projects
Strong problem solving skills
Possess working knowledge of Microsoft office applications
Excellent interpersonal relations and ability to effectively build relationships with clients and candidates
Strong customer service orientation
Ability to operate a motor vehicle
Position Qualifications - KSA (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Associate degree or High School diploma (or equivalent)
1-3 years of verifiable sales experience, preferably B2B selling
Strong affinity for business development, including service calls and marketing calls
A desire to increase business opportunities in your market by being actively involved in the community
Troubleshooting abilities to resolve problems or complaints of clients.
Strong communication and listening skills to apply a consultative sales process.
The ability to understand and apply basic business acumen and financial concepts
Strong PC skills as these are critical to your success in this role
Must have reliable transportation, valid Drivers License and ability to use personal vehicle daily to successfully perform job duties
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
To successfully perform the duties of this job, the staff associate is required to have the ability and skills sufficient to drive a motor vehicle 60-75% of the time, to visit other office locations, prospects or new clients. In addition, the staff associate must have the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate light to medium weights of 10 - 50 pounds. Requires good hand/eye coordination, arm/hand/ finger dexterity including the ability grasp and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate office equipment and read and write the application information. The staff associate is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
