~ Lead aspects of the market sensing research function for Hyundai and Genesis focused on marketing related activities. This is a strategic position that influences and supports critical areas of the business and has high level of visibility with on-going executive level interactions and presentations. The role requires working cross-functionally to champion the Hyundai/Genesis brand metrics and activities and Divisional metrics.
~ Brand Health and Ad Tracking
~ Champion and lead the Hyundai and Genesis brand health tracking studies including vendor management, data analysis, and quarterly customized reporting.
~ Lead Hyundai and Genesis syndicated ad tracking studies including vendor management, and quarterly/ad hoc reporting.
~ Collaborate closely with Marketing Department and outside Ad agency on various projects including key marketing actions impacting brand and model level metrics
~ Develop, track, and report out on brand and model level key marketing performance metrics to executives 2-3 times per month
~ Responsible for identifying ad hoc issues or topics that should be added/removed in the monthly tracker via custom questions Continuously explore possible new resources, tools, methods for improve the measure of our brand's health
~ Hyundai Brand Research (Marketing Focused)
~ Lead all ad hoc market research or consumer insights project related to growing the Hyundai brand or testing new strategies.
~ Support any research related requests from the Marketing Department (includes data analysis, custom research studies, custom reporting, ad hoc presentations)
~ Serve as the Key North American contact for any global Hyundai brand projects and responsible for sharing the North American perspective and needs, executing on various requests and communicating outcomes to key stakeholders as needed.
~ Support new naming related projects which involves working with key internal stakeholders and leveraging consumer feedback to develop, evaluate, test, and finalize newly created names for various programs (new model, new trim name, new capabilities, etc.)
~ Lead various ad hoc consumer research projects (Marketing positioning clinics for new products, Early buyer studies, and new concept testing)
~ Division Level Business Planning
~ Lead the cross-functional development of short-term and long-range division level business plans, incorporating market and competitive assessment, strategic priorities, and executive direction.
~ Develop, update, and distribute divisional scorecard(s) to track progress.
~ Develop programs and strategies that require input and agreement across multiple departments within Hyundai.
~ Lead initiatives that require internal team members, executives, and other departments to full-fill requests and align around recommendations.
~ Establish brand and model level targets and metrics.
~ Responsible for budgeting and financial oversight of main responsibilities.
~ Bachelor's degree required
~ Master's degree a plus
~ Six to ten years of relevant experience in Market Research (focused on marketing and communications), Brand or Marketing Strategy, and/or Corporate Planning.
~ 2 years working at or for an automotive OEM and/or ad agency within a research, brand-related, or marketing function.
~ Experience developing strategies that influence brand growth and successful marketing and advertising initiatives.
~ Strong track record transforming complex analyses into straightforward, digestible reports (impactful storytelling) using clear written and visual methods (typically MS Powerpoint).
~ Ability to translate data into actionable ideas and recommendations.
~ Excellent oral and written communications skills including excellent presentation skills with a proven ability to have high impact.
~ Strong interpersonal, analytical, and leadership skills.
~ Self-starter, with good time management skills and the ability to complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.
~ Good judgment and decision-making ability.
~ Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
~ Effective knowledge of automotive industry brand and marketing-related information.
~ Normal office duties.
~ Must be able to present in front of large audiences including executives.
